Lloyd's Motor Club

The Club’s membership has grown steadily in recent years, with members being offered an ever-expanding range of motoring and related events in which to participate; many of these events are exclusively open to members, while others allow members to bring friends or clients along. These include joint ventures with other Lloyd’s groups such as the Yacht Club and the Wine Society.

Members can experience high-octane driving challenges such as our long-standing Track Day at Goodwood, where they can drive their own cars at speed around the famous circuit; we have recently also taken groups along to sample the racing schools at Shelsley Walsh, Prescott and Curborough. Our annual Karting Day at Buckmore Park is now in its 24th year, with members and their insurance market guests (of all levels of experience and ability) competing for Sprint and Endurance trophies over the course of an exciting day’s competition.

Members and their guests can also avail themselves of more sedentary activities such as our regular Prestige Motor Forums in the Old Library at Lloyd’s.We have in the past welcomed BMW, Bentley, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, McLaren, Caterham, Hyundai, Jaguar, Rolls Royce and Ferrari to Lloyd’s, to give presentations on their latest cars, their history and their sporting achievement. These free events are always popular and the manufacturers bring along some choice vehicles from their range to display outside Lloyd’s”

We also hold regular Club Lunches and Suppers with motorsport celebrities and military veterans, while our occasional Club Dinner has in recent years featured such luminaries as the late John Surtees CBE, Damon Hill OBE and Ross Brawn OBE as our star guests. We also offer once-in-a-lifetime factory visits, including leading motor manufacturers and Formula One teams such as Mercedes, McLaren and Williams F1, and unique behind-thescenes museum trips to outstanding venues including Beaulieu, Brooklands (where members also enjoyed a photo opportunity on the legendary banking.
